With the rapid development of the highway,the traffic safety of the highway has attracted more and more attention.There are many factors could influence the highway traffic safety,among which the highway visual landscape is an important factor.Therefore,study on the impact of highway visual landscape on traffic safety is of great significance to optimize the highway landscape design and reduce the occurrence possibility of traffic accidents.In this paper,we firstly focus on the basic concept of driver's visual characteristics and highway visual landscape.By analyzing the driver's visual landscape sensitivity,we divided the landscape sensitivity into three levels.Weproposed that freeway roadside landscape and landscape at tunnel entrance is located in a visual sensitive regions,which should be designed emphatically.Secondly,we did a qualitative research of influence the ramp export marked plants to safe driving.Based on the trend surface analysis method,we established the relationship model of the three values: roadside landscape color value,vehicle speed and driver's heart rate.Then,by using the method of psychological evaluation,we did research of the influence the landscape color on the road safety.Then we established the relationship model between the landscape color and the driver's heart rate.Finally,we selected the Chongqing along-river highway as real vehicle test data acquisition,using MATLAB software to create the specific model of side landscape color value,driving speed and driver's heart rate.We found that the freeway roadside landscape color value was negatively correlated with the effects of heart rate and the freeway speed positively influence the heart rate.The driving speed is more sensitive than the landscape value.Then we selected Cimushan tunnel as the experimental data acquisition,by creating the model of landscape color value and driver's heart rate value,we found that the driver's heart rate value first increases with the landscape color,then remained at a steady state then decrease with the landscape color value.Finally,we proposed on the highway landscape design and highway tunnel entrance landscape design.To certain extent,the research results improve the highway security theory and have some guidance to the improvement of the highway landscape design and driving safety.
