The recycling of used asphalt blend can not only save non-renewable resources,but also play an important role of preventing our environment from being destroyed by over-exploitation.It is a sustainable technology to repair bituminous pavement.Used asphalt blend is not able to meet human being’s requirements because its properties will drop as time goes by.Thus asphalt regenerant can improve its physical properties by restoring the aged asphalt chemical composition and colloidal structures.It also has great influence on making full use of the performance of asphalt mixture.However,there is much more asphalt regenerant in the laboratory than in the plant.Moreover,most of the asphalt regenerant on sale is not up to the standard and can not withstand the test of the majority.It’s necessary to develop regenerant with excellent performance,low cost,suitable for industrial production and application.Therefore,the development of the excellent performance of regenerated catalyst is of great significance to the promotion of waste asphalt recycling technology development.The paper is based on the cooperative research project between the Urumqi and Chongqing POFUN Institute,a study for key technologies of asphalt pavement recycling in Urumqi.According to the used materials from the roads in Xinjiang,the Group Accommodation Theory and the Compatibility Theory,a series of experiments has been done.As a result,two new environmental regenerant have been developed.Research result shows: From the basic physical properties of the regenerated catalyst base oil,and its terms of aging Asphalt and Mechanical Properties,price,etc.,we developed the PF-type and PF-type hot asphalt recycling agent,respectively,for the age of the different aging asphalt.Regenerant products meet the specifications,performance,and low prices.PF-type using regenerated catalyst,Xinjiang old material regeneration,the regenerated catalyst to determine the content and the old material blending ratio:When the old material blending rate of 30%,40%,the content of regenerated catalyst 10%;when the old material blending rate of 50%,the regenerated catalyst content of 15%.Microscopic test showed that the regenerated catalyst is added to the aging of the asphalt,the soft component increases,regenerated catalyst and dispersion play a solubilizing effect to improve the gel structure during regeneration.Through economic analysis,waste asphalt pavement recycling and new paving surface compared to the economic cost savings of 30% to 50%.
