Nowadays, with the development of aerospace technology, the technology of observation on earth based on satellite develops a lot. Many national defense early warning projects of observation on earth are presented by western country, especially USA. Space Based Infrared System is an outstanding example. In China, the development of early warning started quite late. At this background, this paper mainly study the main physical effects when satellite takes infrared pictures on the missile and conduct visualization simulation with the help of 3D simulation technology.The main work of this paper are outlined as follows:1. Analysis on the main physical effects when satellite takes infrared pictures on the missile, including the transforming of infrared radiation and the process of imaging. On the basis of the analysis, we summarize the main study point of this paper.2. By redesigning the content of Tiff file, we describe the way of making infrared texture for osg Earth. With the help of osg Earth, we create the partial infrared digital earth 3D model, therefore, completing the background radiation source modeling.3. Analysis on the relationship between the space coordinate and the focal plane coordinate of the missile target. After that, we compute the atmosphere effects on the target and background by using MODTRAN. In the end, we conduct the satellite infrared imaging simulation with overall consideration of atmosphere effects and sensor effects. This paper analyzes the main parameters of missile during the early warning of missile, conduct visualization simulation and has practical application value.
