Mineral fiber is added into bituminous concrete as a intensifier with the requirement of larger volume of traffic and better usability and durability of bituminous road under the complex circumstance. Therefore, graduation of OGFC-13 should be designated to the application of large number of laboratory tests on mix proportion design of bituminous concrete of specific basalt fiber as well as its performance study.(1) The conclusion is that every technique index from the testing results of raw materials, such as coarse and fine aggregate and asphalt meets standard requirements. Performance test of specific basalt fiber demonstrates that fiber's diameter is about 3~6?m and it can achieve 73% oil absorptionits which is obviously higher than the requirement of 50% oil absorption in related specification.(2) Through the mix proportion design of OGFC-13, optimal asphalt-aggregate ratio of mixing amounts as 0.0%, 0.3%, 0.4%, 0.5% and 0.6% should be designed respectively as 4.20%, 4.50%, 4.60%, 4.50% and 4.30%, which shows a variation like a parabola, illustrating that too much specific basalt fiber would fill the interspace of OGFC-13 and leads to lower asphalt-aggregate ratio. The testing of the Marshall and leakage and flyoff with optimal asphalt-aggregate ratio discovered that VV, VE and VMA decrease as mixing amounts increase and MS and FL reach their peak by 0.4%, which respectively increase 19.7% and 12.6%; lossing of leakage and flyoff decrease as mixing amount decreases and decreases by 30.7% achieving its lowest point as mixing amount is 0.4..(3) For the indoor experiment of pavement performance, the mix of specific basalt fiber is helpful to the improvement of OGFC-13 pavement performances. The best improvement of performance would be the mixing amount of specific basalt fiber on 0.4%. DS, maximum bending strain, Marshall residual stability(MS0) and freeze-thaw splitting strength ratio(TSR) increased by 60.2%, 44.5%, 9.3% and 44.5% respectively. At the same time, it also has fine drainage effects and pavement skid resistance. Therefore, 0.4% is determined the best fiber mixing amount.(4) By comparing with different types of asphalt mixture, special basalt fiber OGFC-13 with optimal mixing proportion achieved excellent road performance. The practical engineering and technical index of specific basalt fiber OGFC-13 should be gained after combining test results and related technical requirements. In summary, the proposed special basalt fiber reinforced asphalt OGFC-13 can be used for drainage formula friction course of asphalt pavement.
