Valves are one of the important components in the pipeline system, and the study on check valves at home and abroad initially focused on structure improvement and new type valves design. Although the role of check valves in the pipeline system is irreplaceable, there are problems such as large flow resistance coefficient, small opening angle, high energy consumption and serious impact on check valves of swing structure, lift structure and butterfly structure, which seriously affects the performance of the whole pipeline system and also is not meet the requirements of the national energy-saving policy. Under this situation, it is to vital to design a new type of check valve with smaller flow resistance coefficient, larger the opening angel and better performance apply to the pipeline.This paper conducted the comparison analysis on characteristics and valve structure of swing, lift and butterfly check valve and summed up the flaws of the ordinary check valves; According to the design specifications of check valve, we designed a new type of oblique twin disc check valves, the valve flap adopted double flap structure with 20°incline. According to the planed designing project of check valves, we drew the 3D solid model and 2D structure diagram, analyzed the structure of the flaps and related components and analyzed in detail the opening and closing process of the check valve and the flap stress distribution.With inclined double flap check valves as the research object, this paper expounded the basic theory of numerical simulation, introduced the theory of turbulence model and simplified the 3D model of check valves. This paper adopted Fluent software to run the numerical simulation analysis on the internal flow characteristics of new check valve with open angles of 30°, 50°, 70°, 80°and 80°(full open), and obtained stress nephogram and turbulent kinetic energy, velocity contours and the velocity vector diagram under each working condition, calculated the pressure loss value under the five conditions, drew map pressure loss characteristics of the check valve and calculated flow resistance coefficient and discharge coefficient of the check valves.This paper made the model of inclined double flap check valves, drew up the test contents, test procedures and test methods in order to flow resistance and flow characteristic test, set up test system, determined the data measurement and run the error analysis to the test system. This paper run tests of the check valves under the conditions of 20°, 30°, 40°, 50°, 60°, 70°, 80°and 88°(full open), got the water loss and data at the ends of the import and export of the check valve under the conditions, calculated the the pressure loss, flow resistance coefficient and discharge coefficient under each working condition, drew the check valve flow resistance coefficient- flow coefficient characteristic figure, the experimental results were close to simulation results. The results showed that the inclined double flap check valve had advantages such as small coefficient of flow resistance, large flow coefficient, better flow capacity and low energy consumption, providing reference for studies and designs of the check valves in the future.
