Currently, in order to meet the requirements of network reliability and optimize the allocation of power resources, intelligent substation came into being. Its main trend is to achieve a system of network intelligence and secondary systems. In smart substation, the networked secondary system, on the one hand, provide more services for the development of intelligent devices, monitors and manages the integration of intelligent devices, is in favor of the integration of smart substation. On the other hand, the system enables automated equipment, a timely response to failure of the power system to ensure the normal operation of power systems. At this stage, due to the smart substation technology is not mature enough. In the design process of smart substation project, we will face many technical problems.Based on the research status of secondary system in smart substation, first of all, from the analysis of transformer selection, main transformer and arrester on-line monitoring system, the time synchronization mode and intelligent advanced applications, etc. Summarizes the function and configuration of all the requirements. Secondly, taking the secondary system in Baotou West 500 kV smart substation as the research object, the proposed configuration scheme will be applied to the system, combined with the actual situation. Based on the analysis of the network topology, "three layer two network" structure, tripping mode and integrated power supply equipment and other aspects, the configuration scheme is improved. Finally, using the ladder load method quantitatively calculated battery capacity of the 220 V Station DC system in power supply system, the battery charging module configuration requirements are given.
