The Smart grid is an effective way for the country to achieve low carbon power. The construction of strong smart grid has become the new trend of the development of power grid in twenty-first Century. Intelligent substation is an important unit of the smart grid,which is responsible for the substation, monitoring the power grid operation and the protection of power grids. With the large number of intelligent devices connected to the network, the design of intelligent substation relay protection has changed obviously. The project of intelligent substation demonstration project in HeNan province 220 kV QiuShan intelligent substation based on intelligent substation relay QiuShan two system protection design.First of all, according to the operation condition of the substation, the paper analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of conventional substation and intelligent substation, and the 220 kV QiuShan power plant project was introduced through the analysis of power load and power belongs to the transformer substation of XinXiang power grid and HuiXian power grid, the necessity of the construction of 220 kV QiuShan.substationThen, the overall network structure of the intelligent substation is introduced, and the function of the network is completed. Combined with the engineering practice of220 kV substation QiuShan, QiuShan substation station control layer/station network,process layer network system network is designed, the two network are designed using AB dual star topology, and the paper offers the detailed configuration of the switchboard. The VLAN(virtual local area network) of the process layer network is designed, and the ports o f the switchboard are divided by VLAN.Thirdly, the paper introduces the method of sampling and tripping, and compares the advantages and disadvantages of the two schemes. The reliability of the protection device is analyzed, and the conclusion is drawn. Protection device 220 kV QiuShan intelligent substation direct mining design adopt jumping, and gives a detailed design of line protection, bus protection and transformer protection.According to the characteristics of the two system of intelligent substation, the design method of the two circuit of intelligent substation based on virtual terminal is proposed. The three steps of GOOSE, SV data flow chart, and the two system ofintelligent substation are designed. In order to change 220 kV QiuYi line as an example,explains the concrete design steps two virtual loop system of intelligent substation.Finally, the paper introduces the content, procedure and the purpose of relay protection debugging in the smart substation. In order to debug the content more detailed image of the expression of relay protection, the paper provides the 220 kV ShaYi line as an example for debugging analysis, through a detailed description of the steps, debugging of intelligent substation are explained in detail and image.
