Intelligent substation technology is the frontier technology in the field of power system automation, it is pushing the third revolution in the substation secondary system. In such an environment the system structure working principle, key technology, debugging and test ideas of intelligent substation relay protection and monitoring have undergone profound changes. In view of this, all concerned domestic manufacturers are committed to the design and research work of relay protection and monitoring system which is in the intelligent substation environment. In this thesis, intelligent substation bus protection device are designed and researched. It also built a software development and testing platform for intelligent substation bus protection. The software development and testing work of the bus protection device is completed in this platform.Digital sampling technology of intelligent substation relay protection is the key technology for relay protection. It is related to the safety, stability and reliable operation of relay protection device. In this thesis, the principle of work, the advantages and disadvantages of sampling scheme which is include "point to point" sampling and SV network sampling are analyzed. And it puts forward a new approach that has the advantages of the two schemes, which is named "do not rely on external clock network "sampling scheme.In this paper, standard implementation scheme of the State Grid intelligent substation bus protection, the function and configuration requirements of bus protection device and bus protection relay algorithm and exit logic are also analyzed. It determines the hardware scheme of intelligent substation bus protection software development test platform, and the functions configuration scheme of designing intelligent substation bus protection.Modeling for bus protection device is a basic work of intelligent substation bus protection device designing. This paper establishes a bus protection device model which is based on the IED modeling principle and basic method of the "IEC61850" definition. And it is designed the communication model and virtual terminal chart for the input/output of the GOOSE and the input of SMV.The software design of intelligent substation bus protection device is the key part of this article. It has completed the main software module design of bus protection device. It also tests the display function and verifies the algorithm and export logic of the device in the software development test platform.
