With the rapid development of new energy power generation projects such as wind power generation and photovoltaic power generation in recent years, the proportion of new energy generation in power system is increasing year by year. Due to wind power and photovoltaic power generation have poor peak load regulation capacity, wind power and photovoltaic power resource intensive regions are usually far away from load centers, the difficulty of new energy consumption and sent out becomes a bottleneck in the development of the industry.In order to solve the problem of wind and light power curtailment, National Energy Administration strictly controls the approval of the wind power project issued under the plan in the area with severe wind curtailment, and urges the China State Grid to further solve the problem of new energy power generation. However, the situation of the long construction period of the ultra high voltage channel and the less number of substations is difficult to solve practical problems in the near future; the construction of pumped storage power station can not be developed in large scale due to the limitation of the terrain, water and other conditions; chemical energy storage, air storage and so on are still in the research stage and they are difficult to implement in large scale due to cost and reliability constraints.The study found that, in the north, wind power curtailment and power rationing usually occurs in winter. Winter is the wind season for wind power industry and is also the heating season in the north, cogeneration units and wind turbine loads are superimposed largely, further increased the difficulty of peaking, resulted in a large area of wind curtailment and power rationing. If the wind farm abandoned wind power in winter can be used to heat the boiler for city heating, on the one hand, it can reduce wind power curtailment, on the other hand, it can reduce the power output of thermal power units, then reduce wind power brownouts.In this paper, we studied and analyzed the technical feasibility of using abandoned wind power for heating, and carried out a detailed technical analysis from the aspects of the heating load, electric heating boiler, heating pipe network and power supply and thermal measurement monitoring system and so on. At the same time, we studied and analyzed the feasibility of using abandoned wind power for heating, and analyzed the cost benefit combined with the wind power heating project total investment budget and income calculations.
