With the rapid development of economy and society, the power load of the power grid is increasing year by year, so the relationship between the grid is becoming more complex, and the uncertain factors also increase exponentially. This caused some difficulties for the power grid planning personnel in the substation site planning. In general, the substation site selection should consider the reasonable power supply radius and the line corridor. Usually location mathematical methods include branch and bound method, random endpoint method, in reality these mathematical models usually because it is too complex to solve, also very difficult and field practice, so at this stage most of the area power grid planning and site selection is usually still use the control power supply area drawings to discuss substation location planning staff, according to field survey, and ultimately determine the location of the new substation, this method sometimes although it looks very simple, but it lacks a scientific method of support.In view of this situation, combined with the geographical information system(GIS) in the spatial location of the characteristics, geographic information system will be introduced into the substation site becomes very necessary. It has the general system does not have the ability, for example, it can not only allow users to see the actual situation of the geographical wiring, convenient decision-making, but also with a powerful data processing and analysis capabilities. Using these features of the geographic information system, can help power grid planning personnel in substation locating more quickly and more scientific to determine the site. For example, you can through the visual image of the geography, staff can be planned at the beginning of the design to avoid rapids and the river is not suitable for the construction of the substation location, reduce the location reference point, the siting process more efficient and reasonable. So it is very important to introduce the geographical information system into the location of the substation.Trough platform of network GIS development and related technical characteristics, the establishment of a WebGIS based substation location models, by studying the characteristics of Voronoi diagram, get Voronoi diagram in the new substation location planning has advantages of conclusion to determine the let it be for geometric method of substation location is solved. Through the use of the visualization characteristics of WebGIS, combined with the Voronoi diagram algorithm optimization of substation location, from a computational geometry approach is used to solve for this problem, and through the introduction of loading Ajax technology of WebGIS is optimized and improve the efficiency of data loading. Through the above results, it provides some help to improve the level and efficiency of substation location.
