As the prime mover of hydropower equipment,hydraulic turbine plays an important part in the electrical industry.Tubular turbine is one of the most widely used type in exploring of low head hydro resources,whose runner consists of several blades and a hub.The manufacturing quality of turbine blades directly affects its fluid dynamic performance,reliability and service life and so on.With lower price,easy in usage and maintaining requirements,3-axis NC machining machine is widely used in actual machining.Therefore the turbine manufacturers are exploring and applying 3-axis NC machining technology to complete the processing of turbine blades in the domestic.The paper takes tubular turbine blade as the main object of study.According to the surface and structural characteristics of the blade,and combine with processing capacity and technological requirements of the three-axis CNC machine,both processing positioning and optimization of cut ting parameters are studied.After digital measurement,the reverse technology realizes calculation of homogenization and rapid positioning.Based on the 3-axis NC machining characteristic of blade's surfaces,Computer simulation technology was used to make process planning and optimize tool path computation,and to simulate the cutting of a blade.As a result,3-axis NC machining of an actual tubular turbine blade can be simulated on the simulation platform established before according to the practical model.Combining the 3-axis NC machining process optimization method with requirement of practical project of DEC.DongFeng Electrical Machinery Co.Ltd,the established simulation platform was used to optimize the machining process,and the key technology of NC machining of tubular hydro turbine blades had been optimized.The developed technology presented in this paper had been successfully applied in the practical engineering.
