Waste glass is one of the most solid waste of China. Grind waste glass into powder and used as admixture into concrete is one of effective ways to recycle waste glass. The sand ratio is one of the important parameter of concrete. It can influence the performance of concrete, especially on the large flow concrete. In this study, the workability and strength of waste glass powder are studied. The slump and compressive strength at ages of 7 days, 28 days, 60 days of concrete with difference sand ratio are tested to study the influence of sand ratio on the waste glass powder. Ash fly and slag powder are used in concrete to compare with waste glass powder. All of admixtures are replace 20% of cement to add to the concrete. There are five levels of sand ratio: 35%, 39%, 43%, 47%, 51%, two levels of water-cement ratio: 0.36 and 0.49. The study also analyzed the influence of waste glass powder on the concrete and the feasibility of applying waste glass powder in concrete. Concrete samples were under standard conditions for maintenance. This paper establishes artificial neural networks model for the compressive strength of waste glass powder concrete based on the experiment data. The inputs of the model were the water-cement ratio, dosage of waste glass powder, dosage of cement; dosage of coarse aggregate, dosage of sand and the curing age. The output of the model is the compressive strength of concrete.The results of experiment show that: i) the influence trend of sand ratio on the workability and compressive of waste glass powder concrete is gentle when compared with control concrete. The early compressive strength of waste glass powder concrete was reduced. But waste glass powder can improve the workability of concrete with low sand ratio to some degree; ii) the results of test show that the performance of slag powder is the best, the performance of fly ash and waste glass powder is fairly. So waste glass powder can be used as admixture used in concrete; iii) the influence rule of sand ratio on concrete workability and compressive strength is affected by the factors of water-binder ratio and admixture; when add different admixtures and with different water-binder, the best sand ratio of concrete is different; iv) BP neural network prediction model can be used to predict the waste glass powder concrete compressive strength; the precision of the prediction model is higher and the prediction errors are within 8%; the model can reduce the work for waste glass powder concrete mixture ratio design.
