At present, after the reform of electric power enterprises are facing increasing competitive pressures, set of intelligent and complex in one of the power supply system and its equipment daily maintenance requirements continue to increase, the corresponding maintenance expenditure has also become an important expenditure of power supply enterprise. Therefore, efforts to improve the efficiency of power supply system equipment maintenance, improve the operating efficiency of the system, to enhance the reliability of the potential operation and reduce the cost of power enterprise operation and maintenance is of great significance. Among them, the relay protection device has an indispensable role in ensuring the safe and stable operation of power grid, so it is significant to strengthen the maintenance of the equipment.Under this background, this dissertation summarizes the theory of state maintenance and state evaluation of relay protection system, and introduces the common methods of equipment state evaluation. In addition, from a practical point of view, various types of equipment fault based on the data collected and analyzed, classified and summarized the equipment fault classification and treatment were summarized, ask the professionals in the field, to extract the relative importance of on-line monitoring data and inspection items from a huge amount of data and project, and constructs the comprehensive evaluation index system of the state of a set of relay protection device. Finally, by the AHP(analytic hierarchy process analysis) is based, on the running state of relay protection device analysis, calculate the relay protection device running status of all evaluation indexes in heavy numerical, using suitable scoring method and the scoring formula combined with the indexes of actual, eventually giving an intuitive status score on the equipment; at the same time, the method of grey relational analysis devices introduced the basic situation of the evaluation for the important relationship between the system factors, ultimately determine the device's basic operation condition. Through the engineering example, the evaluation results of the two methods are compared, which can not only verify the evaluation results of the two, but also analyze the advantages and disadvantages of the two methods respectively.
