Applied Research On The Relay Protection Condition Based Maintenance Of Southern Power Grid

The power system of our country always follows the principle of equipment maintenance that “Expired equipment must have compulsory maintenance and must be well required”.With the development of power system,the structure of grid is becoming more and more complex,the number of secondary devices is growing with each passing day,but the workload and the cost of equipment maintenance are also increasing.At present,traditional electromagnetic relays are gradually being replaced by microcomputer protection devices,and self-checking function of microcomputer protection devices is being constantly improved,the traditional time based maintenance strategy is no longer suitable for microcomputer protection equipment.Time based maintenance is blind and lacks of pertinence,which will probably cause the excessive maintenance or insufficient maintenance of equipment and waste the maintenance resources.Condition based maintenance of relay protection equipment is imperative.This article,combined with the author's practical work,studies the practical application of relay protection condition based maintenance,and the achievements are as follows:(1)First of all,introduces the condition based maintenance of relay protection and the status of Shanghai grid relay protection equipment condition based maintenance,expounds the advantages of condition based maintenance which compared with traditional maintenance and the role of condition based maintenance.(2)Classifies the relay protection equipment and the equipment defects in the past two years of Southern grid according to the voltage level,then statistics and analyses from different aspects of protection type,equipment manufacturer,service time,causes of defects,proofing the feasibility of implementing relay protection equipment condition based maintenance in Southern grid.(3)Deeply analyses the principles and processes of relay protection equipment condition based maintenance and the standard models of state evaluation in Southern grid,by being combined with the implementation situation of relay protection equipment condition based maintenance in Southern grid.(4)Gets the state evaluation results and the corresponding condition based maintenance strategy of relay protection equipment in Southern grid by using the relay protection equipment condition maintenance decision support system(RCBM).According to the practical application situation,points out the deficiency of RCBM and gives some suggestions for further improvement.Finally,summarizes the results of this paper,and points out the future research direction and the prospect of relay protection equipment condition based maintenance in Southern grid.
