This paper is based on the project “study on resistance cutting-slippage pavement structure of large longitudinal slope ” of highway administration bureau of Liaoning provincial communications department. According to the major damage forms of large longitudinal slope pavement, its failure mechanism is analyzed and the experimental research on pavement structure and material is carried out to solve this problem.The field survey shows that the traffic vehicles of test section are dominated by heavy duty vehicles and large or medium-sized passenger cars, and there are severe overloading problems. Combined with related literature research results, it can be concluded that because of the role of these vehicles, the large longitudinal slope pavement will produce huge shear stress and normal stress, which is over original asphalt pavement bearing capacity, so the original pavement generate cutting-slippage, folding and the rutting damage.In pavement materials, this paper makes experimental research on buton rock asphalt which is a type of asphalt modifier,and the performance of the buton rock asphalt modified asphalt has compared with the SBS modified asphalt.The mixture is made of SMA mixture,and the Marshall test,dynamic stability test,Schellenberg binder drainage test are used to test the performance of SBS modified SMA mixture and rock modified asphalt SMA mixture. The results showed that the buton rock asphalt has good compatibility with base asphalt and modified by rock asphalt, penetration of base asphalt decrease and soften point increase, modified SMA mixture material has good water stability and skid resistance, high temperature stability and anti rutting ability, the modification effect of rock asphalt and SBS is same.In the pavement structure, the paper analyzes the different interlayer bonding forms,put forward several methods to strengthen the bonding properties between surface and base, and test the effect of these methods by experiment.In terms of damage characteristics of large longitudinal slope pavement and properties of various materials, according to each grade highway and different traffic conditions, this paper puts forward several plan of repair large longitudinal slope pavement, and has carried on the test road paving.The market survey and economic analysis show that the SBS modified SMA Mixture cost than SBS modified AC mixture cost increased by 50 yuan per ton, the rock asphalt modified SMA mixture cost and the cost of SBS modified AC mixture is quite.
