Research On Public Space Design Strategy Of Contemporary World Expo Site (Master Thesis)

Over the past 150 years, the world expositions have made an important contribution to the economic development, city planning, architecture and landscape design. From the construction planning perspective, the planning of World Expo has a great promotion on the modern planning and design philosophy.This paper first reviewed the history of the Expo Garden planning process and its dynamic development. The order of the research is from a macro point of view gradually into the park itself of the special planning study. Based on this framework, the paper discusses the relationship between the World Expo garden and urban development, the garden's overall plan and landscape planning and design for the open space. And with successive World Expo planning practice and experience, the paper would summarize the characteristics of the overall plan for the Expo Garden and the main points of planning and design of the special planning study. Finally, the article makes recommendations on the direction of development of Expo garden, expecting for some useful suggestions of the future planning and construction of the Expo garden.As the development of human's society and economy, people will raise a claim for higher standard of quality for public space.Therefore further research of design strategy of public space surely will be published.
