The marine water jet propulsion is developing toward the properties of small vibration,low noise, small resistance and high efficiency. In this paper, a floor type full rotating water jet propeller was designed to cope with the special working environment. The turning radius of this propeller is small and it can be used in the situation of sailing in the waters that full of shadow reefs. Firstly, the design and analysis of the whole water jet propulsion system is based on the conventional parameters of a patrol boat. Secondly, build the simulation model and use CFD software to analyze the hydraulic performance of water jet propulsion pump.Then based on the analysis results, the model can be improved to the best effect. Finally,design the whole rotating transmission structure of the water jet propulsion system and the model test was carried out in the circulating water tank to verify and analyze the effect of the injection pump.The main work in this paper is as follows:(1)According to the ship's type, size, performance and other aspects of the requirements, the main parameters of the assembly model and the design of the jet pump were obtained, including the type of pump, head, flow, speed etc. Calculate the preliminary sizes of the jet pump and impeller, and build simulation model by SolidWorks software.(2) Build different impeller models and water jet propulsion pump models based on the basic parameters and use CFD to analyze different conditions that mainly divide into three different types of leaves, different tip clearance and different leaf thickness. Select the appropriate number of blades, the best tip clearance and the best blade thickness based on the analysis results and establish the final structure of the jet pump.(3) Designed drive mechanism of the whole water jet propulsion system based on the host model, power and jet pump power required. As the working style of water jet propulsion pump which is installed on the ship bottom is full swing and it changes course without rudder, special transmission structure is designed to achieve the requirements of the360 degree turn.(4) Use 3D printer to print the simulation model under different conditions, and then the experiments was carried out in the circulating water tank to to verify the accuracy of CFD prediction.Finally, the experiment results showed that the design of the jet pump canreach the requirements of navigation.
