The air transportation has long been developing with great speed and the operation practice indicates the single-runway can no longer meet the operation requirement of large-scale airports anymore, which urges the multi-runway to become the new trend. The closely spaced runway will be the main direction of the multi-runway airport system in China due to the limitation of land area, urban planning and other aspects. Based on the aforementioned facts, the research on the safety and efficiency of multi-runway system is full of theoretical significance and application value. This paper chose the typical operation mode of multi-runway airport as the main research object, using discrete dynamic theory, system simulation theory and extension theory. The main work done in this paper included:1. Concluding the multi-runway operation modes in different airports both at home and abroad and obtaining the typical operation mode of complex airport under the condition of different runways.2. Putting forward an airfield conflict resolution based on Petri nets, taking the airport surface operation's randomness, complexity and dynamic nature into consideration. The common problems which appeared in complex airports operation process when aircrafts meeting in the taxiway intersections, taxiing on the line segments and passing through the airport runway were then studied. Following the proposition of the airfield conflict resolution rules of prohibition state logic reciprocal and linear inequality constraints based on the model identification, this paper established the airfield simulated operation system on the Flexsim platform and took the example of Pudong Airport to verify the effectiveness of the conflict resolution rules in the flight zone3.Putting forward a method of evaluating the security and efficiency of the multi-runways by combining the ANP and extension assessment: Firstly, the ANP network structural model was established through analyzing the interdependence and feedback relationship between factors of airport layout, human behavior and airport surface management, especially the indicators of security and efficiency. Super Decision was then applied to determine the weight of each indicator. Finally, the extension matter-element model and the correlation function which jointly affect the security and efficiency of the runway operation were constructed and evaluated by the extensively comprehensive assessment.
