As the information input source to the pilots, the cockpit display system has great significance to the flight safety. With the development of the display technology, the large screen display will gradually be applied to more and more cockpit design, although the second and third generations of the layout are widely used nowadays for cockpit main instrument interface in active aircrafts. Currently, for the cockpit with large screen, the impact of the luminous environment change to the display efficiency is still unknown. In the design process, the lack of relevant theoretical foundation leads to the influence of the schedule and the increased cost. In this regard, it is necessary to carry out the influence mechanism research of the luminous environment to the display efficiency about the large screen.On the basis of the theories study about HVS(human visual system), cockpit visual ergonomics design, the luminous environment in the cockpit with large screen and the influence factors of the display efficiency have been analyzed in detail. The influence index system of the luminous environment change to the display efficiency was established. The quantificational brightness model of cockpit display interface was put forward. Moreover, the experimental researches on the illuminant color and the efficiency of display color scheme was carried out.The main work of this paper is as follows:Firstly, the contents related to illuminant environment and the display efficiency in HVS(human visual system) was analyzed, including the human eyes visual function and spectral luminous efficiency. On this basis, the components of the illuminant environment in aircraft cockpit and the light variation characteristics under the relevant flight scenes and tasks have been studied. In addition, the influence factors of the display efficiency and the index system with weights was put forward based on the expertise.Subsequently, the research on the brightness model of display interface based on the human visual perception was carried on. According to the theories about the human visual perception and the photometry, the brightness model of the cockpit lighting and display systems with large screens was established. The mathematical models of brightness, uniformity and contrast were given. Then, an example study on brightness was carried out using a certain type of aircraft cockpit display interface.Finally, the study on the colorimeter system of the luminous environment in the cockpit was finished based on the ergonomics experiment. By building the platform of physics experiments and designing the psychology ergonomics experiment, the display color scheme was completed under the different conditions of brightness level and illuminant color. Besides, the experimental data were analyzed in accordance with the main cause analysis and the suggestions about color scheme of large screen display under different luminous environment was given combined with the subjective evaluation.
