Digital camouflage is mainly to protect something from the human's eye and visible light instrument for detecting on the ground. Studies have shown that the minimum resolution of the human's eye is a certain number when the brightness and contrast of background remains unchanged.In a deterministic camouflage scene, when a man stays away from a target, which the minimum distance he can distinguishcan be calculated according to the principle of human vision.When the size of the Digital Camouflage unit is smaller than the size human can distinguish, the Digital Camouflage will blend in human's eyes.It can be fused with the background to achieve a good pretending effect.The designing of the unit is important in the designing of digital camouflage. At present, the mature digital camouflage for reconnaissance is limited, and the development of war's technology requires the applicable scope of reconnaissance distance wider.What'more, the unit shape of Digital Camouflage is square, its edge is relatively clear. The camouflage effect is not very good, and the complex background requires the edge blend well with the background.This paper proposes a method for the design of the Digital Camouflage. It includes two ways. One way is to improve the color and size of Digital Camouflage unit based on the color mixing theory. The other is to improve the digital camouflage unit shape based on the Gestalt Psychology and experimental psychology.Firstly, based on the principle of the mixed color, this paper studies digital camouflage cell segmentation. This method includes several steps, like preprocessing the image's background, extracting the camouflage background's main color, calculating the size of the camouflage unit, generating the clustering image to get the preliminary camouflage unit, segmenting the preliminary camouflage unit and producing the final digital camouflage unit. While segmenting the camouflage unit, this paper arranges two or more colors in the same area to fit different color camouflage unit. In this way, when we observe the digital camouflage within the scope of the original reconnaissance distance, the color remains the same. And if we observe it in closer distance, as a result of smaller digital camouflage unit, it can still play good role. In addition, the segmentation of the digital camouflage can increase the color of the cell number. It can enrich the color level and make the background simulation better.Secondly, the unit shape of Digital Camouflagewill be also improved. The unit shape will be changed from square to Equilateral diamond and regular hexagon, it will also make effect.Lastly, this paper use Canny edge and eye dection to evaluate the camouflage effect of Digital Camouflage. It shows that this new method make an better effect than before.
