Based on the contemporary phenomenon of an aging society in our country and its relative national policies, research of residential environment on Home-based aging community will be illustrated in this thesis.Through analyzing the physiological,psychological and behavior characteristics of the elderly people,such as their entertaining habits, exercise styles, travel mode and humanity feelings, senior's demand of outdoor environment could be proved, which will lead to the following associated theory and concept explanation; methodology of Home-based aging community design.etc. To be more specific,the research achievement will guide to a live project which aims to construct a elder people's adopted environment by dividing spatial layout into different functional spaces and theme settings in a community.This paper contains the following four parts: The first chapter is the preface which analyzes the social background of aging society and this group of people's demand,physically, mentally. The second part is the most important chapter of this paper, which is not only defining some abstract academic concept about these study but also presenting the relative domestic and foreign literature,then the existing problems of our countries' Home-based aging community are systematically analyzed. Finally the targeted approach and design philosophy be explored according to the above research. The third chapter is a fictitious live project. According to the methods and principles that have proposed before,combining the specific site conditions, a targeted design strategy will be put forward and the systems theory will be validated. Hopefully, the study could improve this search area,providing a effective solution and useful reference for our future increasing number of Home-based aging communities.
