Airbag control unit is the important part of automotive passive safety system, its working reliability affects the reliability of the system. Manufacturers must consider ensuring working normally of each product. Airbag control unit test equipment is an important means of testing them work or not. This paper combining the domestic and foreign research results, design the airbag control unit tests equipment.First, the paper introduces the development of airbag control unit and its test equipment, through the analysis and research on the airbag principle and test method of the controller, summarizes the important airbag control unit testing steps, designs the overall scheme of the test equipment.According to the test requirements, this paper design and research based on GPIB bus test equipment, set up hardware of test system include industrial control computer, programmable multimeter, programmable power supply in this paper. Through the controlling of the hardware system, the test equipment can be used to simulate the external environment and runtime configuration of airbag control unit, to judge the stability and reliability of the controller.Test equipment uses Agilent TestExec SL which is designed for automotive electronic test as test sequence design and management of operation tool. Combined TestExec SL with Visual Basic, Visual C + + together, the former design test sequence, manage sequence, run the test sequence, the latter is responsible for developing the test. This paper also discusses the test principle of the two kinds of representative test steps and software code, designs the OPUI program.According to the test,the test equipment which based on GPIB bus meets the test requirements, and has a fast speed, flexibility and extensibility.
