With the high-speed development of the global economy, the civil aviation transportation industry is showing a rapid development momentum and there is a growing demand for the use of the airspace. As the intensive airspace of the air traffic, the terminal area airspace has some characteristics such as large flight flow and more operation conflicts. So viewing the terminal area airspace as a system and evaluating its operational safety level can discover the hidden safety trouble and formulate corresponding measures, which has an important significance. The research falls into the following parts:1 ? The basic concepts of airspace and system are introduced. And according to the analysis of the unsafe events in the terminal area airspace and some research results, combining the air traffic management system?airline system and airport system, the main influencing factors of the terminal area airspace system are analyzed and summarized from the four elements, which are man, machine, media, and management. And then the index system is established.2?DEMATEL method is used to optimize the index system by excluding the weak index which has less impact on the operational safety of the system and analyze the internal relationship between the indexes.3?Analytic hierarchy process and entropy-weight methods are used together to determine the indexes weights of the Index system4?The Fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method is used to make a comprehensive safety evaluation of a specific terminal area airspace system and some relevant results are achieved. And the operational safety level of the terminal area airspace system is predicted by using the grey system prediction model.
