Switched Reluctance Drive(SRD) system not only has excellent speed regulation performance, but also obtains simple structure and low manufacturing cost. With the further implementation of the home appliances to the countryside policy and the gradual opening of the rural consumer market, the washing machine based on this cost-effective control system will certainly face a better opportunity for market. Therefore, in order to accomplish this thesis, theory is applied to engineering practice with full analysis of the control strategy of SRD.Firstly, the structure and work principle of the switched reluctance motor(SRM) have been deeply analyzed, subsequently the nonlinear model is built with the help of reasonable simplification in this paper. According to the practical use, a control strategy which combines voltage chopping control with angle position control is adopted. And in order to verify the feasibility of that strategy, the SRD system is simulated in MATLAB/Simulink platform.Considering the cost and performance, C8051F310 is chosen as the core control unit. The hardware design includes the design of the MC U minimum system, rectifier circuit and filter circuit, auxiliary DC power supply circuit, power converter and its drive circuit, position detection circuit, current and voltage detection circuit, etc. The software is also programmed, and the architecture of which is given in the paper, while some important program blocks, such as position decoder, commutation control, speed detection, speed regulation and angle optimization, etc, are specifically discussed.In the end, an experiment is carried out within which the motor operation states under different speed are tested, then a conclusion is arrived that the control system designed in this paper is good and reliable.
