The motor comprehensive performance test system is the comprehensive measuring equipment that is commonly used to measure the parameters of voltage, current, frequency, power, efficiency, speed and torque by the motor manufacturer. Under the global background of reducing energy consumption, the PMSM servo system with high performance has great prospects for development and is widely used in many fields. With the further development of the motor technology,PMSM is bound to become a leader of small and medium-sized motor, so the motor test system will need to the next level.This paper introduces a motor test system based on embedded technology. The system applies to the type test of PMSM below 1kw, such as the no-load test,the load test, the locked-rotor test,the torque-speed test, the temperature-rise test and so on. Firstly, the overall scheme of the motor test system is designed to the specific design requirements which is on the basis of investigation and analysis the specific design requirements. The test system consists of PC,the tested motor, the load motor, the motor drive, the torque sensors and the main controller. The realization of data exchange between PC and microprocessor through RS232, between microprocessor and sensors through RS485, between motor controllers and microprocessors through CAN bus. Then, the load system is analyzed mainly. PMSM is selected as the system load motor and is contolled through DTC. The load scheme is feasible through Matlab simulation.Secondly, the hardware platformt of the test system based on ARM Cortex-M4 is set up. The modle of load motor,motor drive, and torque sensor are selected. The peripheral circuits based on ATSAM4E16 ECU are designed mainly. Finally, the software of the test system is designed, including the slave computer software and the PC software. The slave computer software is designed by VC based on Atmel Studio6.2. The function of the data collection, the data processing, the motor control, and CAN communication is realized. The PC software is designed based on Matlab2013 b. The PC interface is designed and the function is realized. The serial port communication is realized. Also, the data acquisition, processing, storage and display function of the system is realized.This test system is controlled by ARM core. The system is small size, simple structure, excellent performance, and high accuracy. The system has some references to other motor test systems.
