The study of this paper was based on high-speed tractor trucks equipped with Weichai Landking diesel engines. Based on CRUISE software, the powertrain simulation platform was constructed, the vehicle powertrain system was matched. In order to obtain more accurate simulation results, this paper used the five-axis powertrain test bench, the perfect transmission efficiency of gearbox and rear axle was got. in order to provide test data support for the calibration of the simulation model. Furthermore, the optimum matching was verified go through the test and market validation.1. The powertrain system simulation platform was built. To complete the powertrain matching design, based on CRUISE software, the powertrain simulation model of said vehicle was completed, including load model, engine model, gearbox model, rear axle final drive model, driver model, etc., providing a simulation platform for subsequent powertrain matching design.2. Study the impact of powertrain system efficiency on vehicle fuel economy. This paper uses the five-axis test bench and proposed transmission efficiency test method to test the efficiency of transmission system consisting of gearbox and drive axle, and analyzes the key factors affecting the efficiency of the transmission system. With the test, accurate transmission efficiency is obtained to provide an accurate input for transmission efficiency calibration in the simulation platform and also a reference for the selection of drive system components.3. The simulation analysis of the power transmission system matching design impact on vehicle fuel economy. Put the powertrain system transmission efficiency parameters from the five-axis test bench into the simulation platform to simulate vehicle transmission systems of different configurations. Use vehicle performance evaluation target as the optimization goal and DOE matrix analysis method for data analysis. And then the optimal matching is recommended based on the simulation results. Simulation results show that the optimum configurations are "WP13 + 12 T + 2.846" and "WP13 + 12 TA + 3.866".4. Test recommended power transmission system of vehicle fuel economy. In order to validate the recommended optimum powertrain configuration, this paper uses the combination of heavy-duty chassis dynamometer and road test to validate the fuel economyof the recommended systems. The results show that the combination of WP13.480 engine +2.846 gearbox + 12 T drive axle has the best overall performance.5. Confirm the actual effect of fuel economy. Market research and user experience show that the optimization method considering the matching of transmission efficiency and powertrain matching can improve the fuel economy effectively. The comprehensive fuel consumption reaches 33. 5L/100 km.In summary, this paper uses a certain high-speed tractor truck equipped with Weichai Landking diesel engine as the object to simulate vehicle transmission systems of different configurations with the one-dimensional models calibrated by the five-axis test bench. As the result, WP13.480 engine, 12 T gearbox, and 2.846 drive axles are chosen for the configuration,and this result has been proved by test and market research indicating that the fuel economy of this configuration after optimization has been significantly improved.
