More and more college teams have been involved in the competition since the first Chinese college formula one car race was held in China in 2010.In order to achieve good results in the race,the teams have launched a study of the formula car.Frame is an important part of the formula car,almost all racing parts need to be installed on the frame.In the competition,the frame will be subject to the road of motivation,the assembly of the role of the gravity and other forces,so the performance of the frame quality is crucial for the game.If the frame performance is not good enough,it may be in the total deformation and even break the competition,resulting in the car can not continue the game.At the same time,the frame's anti deformation ability will affect the car's four wheel alignment parameters,if serious deformation of the frame,the vehicle will lead to changes in the four wheel positioning parameters,thereby affecting the performance of the car's operation.Moreover,the quality of the car frame directly determines the power and economy of the car,a lighter frame will make the car's power and economy greatly improved.But in the pursuit of light weight,we also need to ensure that the strength of the frame stiffness to meet the requirements of the competition,to prevent the failure of the frame in the game.And modal analysis of the frame to prevent the phenomenon of resonance in the course of the race.In this paper,by using HyperMesh software first to topology optimization design of frame,realize a process from scratch.According to the topology optimization density distribution diagram,the prototype of the formula racing car is designed.Then the strength,stiffness and modal analysis of the frame,to ensure that the frame in the course of the game will not be effective and resonance phenomenon.Finally,the preliminary design of the frame size optimization,to further optimize the performance of the frame,and the final model of the frame.
