The electric energy is transmitted from the power plant to the electric power users through the power lines,power transformers and other equipment.The loss of power network mainly includes line loss and transformer loss.Very high system losses will reduce economic efficiency and reliability of the power system.Therefore,it is very important to study and take measures to reduce the of distribution network losses,to improve the reliability,stability and economy of Power distribution system.In this paper,research is conductedto find out the methodology to reduce the loss of power distribution network of NinhKieu district,Can Tho city,Vietnam is using PSS/ADEPT simulation software.The specific work done in this research is as follows:Firstly,accessing to relevant literature,study the main components of the distribution network,losses of distribution system and the reasons for the lossescurrent power grid in Vietnam.This will providethe foundation for the next step to the loss reduction program.Secondly,the basic principle and calculation method of power loss in distribution network are analyzed.At the same time,the current operation status of power distribution network and the technical measures for reducing loss are studied.Thirdly,after theoretical analysis,and deep study of the existing data,analyzes and studies the network structure and operation mode of 22kV distribution network of NinhKieu district,Can Tho city,Vietnamwill lay the foundation for the simulation model.PSS/ADEPT simulation software will be used for the designing of basic model of distribution network loss calculation,in-depth understanding of software equipment model parameters and state,will be applied to the distribution network loss reduction calculation and analysis.Finally,with the PSS/ADEPT simulation model of power 22kV distribution network of NinhKieu district,Can Tho city,Vietnam is implemented for the quantitative calculation of the optimal reactive power compensation location and capacity of the eight main transmission lines in order to find the most effective measure to reduce power loss.
