Distribution automation system mainly consists of distribution master station,communication system and distribution terminal.Communication system is the key to the automation of distribution networks.The communication protocols used in current distribution networks are IEC 60870-5-101/103/104,DNP3.0,etc.which can only solve the problem of data transmission.Those communication protocols lack self description function of data and terminal equipment.In addition,different communication protocols have different definitions of data and transmission models.Thus,a large number of protocol converters are required for achieving inter-operability of different manufacturers' devices.Such problem not only reduces the automation level of distribution network automation system but also increases the cost of construction and maintenance.The aim of IEC 61850 standard is to achieve the inter-operability among intelligent electronic devices produced by different manufacturers.The biggest difference between IEC 61850 standard and traditional communication protocols is that IEC 61850 standard can enable self description ability of equipment by establishing unified information models for equipment based on the object-oriented modeling idea.Through unifying information model of distribution terminals,the application of IEC 61850 standard in distribution network automation system can defeat the weak inter-operability among intelligent electronic devices produced by different manufacturers,improve the automation level of distribution network,and reduce the cost of construction and maintenance work of distribution automation system.The foundation of inter-operability is information model.Therefore,transformer terminal unit was taken as the engineering research object of this thesis.In this study,the data model of reactive power control logical node was improved and an information model of transformer terminal unit was established based on the modeling method of IEC 61850 standard.In addition,a capability configuration file of transformer terminal unit IED(ICD file)was obtained by using Altova XML Spy software to configure the information model established in this study.This configuration file passed the conformance test of IEC 61850 testing software.Such result shows our information model and its related configuration file fully meet the test requirements of IEC 61850 standard.Finally,according to the characteristics of the distribution network automation system,this thesis analyzed and compared three kinds of mapping methods of the core services,and obtained a mapping method of the communication protocol which is suitable for the distribution automation system.The research results of this paper establish the communication model for the transformer terminal unit equipment into the smart distribution network,and provide a reference for the application of IEC 61850 standard in distribution automation.
