With the rapid development of social economy and urban scale on small and medium-sized cities,a series of problems,such as traffic congestion and traffic pollution,began to emerge.As one of the most effective measures for the bus priority development,the bus lane can effectively improve the bus operation status of small and medium-sized city,reallocation the wayleave,and achieve the optimization and upgrading of transportation structure.However,some small and medium sized cities copy the bus lane design method and form of big city blindly,which leading to the unreasonable design and negative impact on the implementation of bus lanes.Therefore,it has important practical significance to carry out in-depth study on the application of bus lanes on small and medium-sized cities.The main contents of this thesis are as follows:Firstly,this thesis analyzes the current development situation of small and medium sized cities,and discusses the necessity and the utility of bus lane on small and medium-sized cities.This thesis puts forward the principles of bus lane planning and designing on small and medium-sized city,and studies the setting conditions of bus lanes from two aspects of traffic flow and saturation.Secondly,this thesis analyzes the advantages and disadvantages and applicability of different bus lane layout pattern.On the basis of small and medium-sized city traffic situation,this thesis puts forward the roadside road and straight-through bus lane combination layout pattern is the most suitable one for small and medium-sized city.Base on the most suitable layout pattern for small and medium-sized city,this thesis use differential method to establish the vehicle entrance probability model and obtain the calculation formula of bus lane tailgating area index,which fills the blind spot of the current norms and provides reference for the future design of bus lanes on small and medium-sized city.Thirdly,the transit time and space priority design is carried out from intersection and road section.Based on the analysis of traditional traffic signal timing model,this thesis established a new traffic signal timing optimization model for bus lane situation.The simulation result shows that the model has better effect on reducing traffic delay.The thesis carries out targeted research of traffic organization of bus lane on small and medium-sized cities,puts forward five optimized design schemes,including road isolation facilities,road exit and entrance settings,slow traffic design,taxi parking design and bus exclusive time design.Finally,this thesis does the comprehensive design of bus lane of the Yellow River Avenue in Changzhou.Based on the results of this thesis,giving the solution of 12 tailgating area index of researching road by using the calculation formula of bus lane,giving the design schemes for traffic signal timing,intersection channelization and traffic organization for every intersections and road section of researching road.Using the VISSIM to build the road network,evaluating the effect of the model and the whole section of bus lane,the results show that the the effectiveness of model and the bus lane design is reasonable and satisfying.
