Axle housing is one of the most important load-bearing parts on the automobile, Drive axle housing performance and fatigue life impact the effective life of the car. Axle housing withstand a larger variable load in the process of driving. Therefore, the axle housing should have certain quality, structure, sufficient strength, stiffness, fatigue properties, plasticity, toughness and corrosion resistance and other comprehensive performance. In the domestic commercial vehicle and off-road vehicle manufacturing, Drive bridge axle shell production process is gradually replaced by stamping welded axle housing shell casting, especially light commercial vehicles and off-road vehicles are basically used in stamping welding axle housing, which drives the bridge shell of the welding quality of a very high demand.Conventional axle housing designs are often analogous, the existing products to be improved and then the bench test and vehicle test, according to the experimental situation and then on the axle housing for the corresponding improvements, it greatly extends the product development cycle and development costs. In this paper, the bridge shell is stamping welding structure, steel plate by punching said half-bridge shell by two half-bridge shell welded into a bridge package, and then welded with the axle casing into a bridge shell. Further simulation analysis and through the test to determine the stress concentration area of the welding process to reduce the program. The design method and the forming and welding process of automobile staged drive axle housing are given in this paper, it can significantly shorten the product development or improvement cycle, it significantly reduced error verification and adjustment waste by avoiding unnecessary repeated test validation.
