Light rail transit(LRT) planning is the key to the development of urban traffic, reasonable greening contributes to the sustainable development of urban rail traffic. For providing a practical example to urban LRT greening design, this study selected the LRT in Chanba(shaanxi) as the research object, analyzed the present situation of its regional background and LRT green space. And designed the LRT from below the light rail, bridge abutment, bridge pier, traffic island and rail line five aspects, then proposaled the reference tree species configuration to different areas, the results were as follows:1) Below the bridge, road greening should keep the sense of wholeness, and made the lower space on both sides of road sight fully vision, also reduced the depressive feeling of bridges. Greening arrangement was given priority to sod, small ornament evergreen shrubs. The main plant were Camellia sasanqua, Nandina domestica, Buxus megistophylla, Aucuba chinensis Benth., Berberis thunbergii var. atropurpurea Chenault, Loropetalum chinense var.rubrum, Ilex crenata cv.Convexa Makino and Ophiopogon japonicus(Linn. f.) Ker-Gawl. And placed some Osmanthus fragrans(Thunb.) Lour., Malushalliana(Voss.)Koehne., Cycas revolute and any other ornamental tree.2) At the deep useless space of abutment, embedded lotus pond hedge could be set to its exterior wall. Bridge piers could combine form of vertical greening, weakening the artificial sense of visual effects to pier itself. Mainly use the small shrubs and herbs such as SedumlineareThunb, Sedum sarmentosum Bunge, Coreopsis grandiflora Hogg. And Sedum reflexum. And placed some Jasminum mesnyi Hance, Spiraea salicifolia L., Yucca gloriosa L., Miscanthus and other extensive management tree.3) Traffic island green space designed with ribbon series into continuous composite garden green space landscape as a whole, Mainly with grass spread planting, the ornament for viewing the solitary tree species, plant or cluster flower shrubs, such as formation of opening green space landscape. Traffic island area was based on ecological forest and decorated periphery with zelkova, Sapindus mukorossi Gaertn., Platanus acerifolia(Ait.), Chinese Glossy Privet, Metasequoia glyptostroboides, Sapium sebiferum(L.) Roxb. tree forest, also with Orange groves, Eriobotrya japonica, Myrica rubra(Lour.) S. et Zucc. and other fruit tree forest.4) The rate of green visual effect on the rail line area and either side of evacuation platform should be increased. According to the actual ballast bed height, lightweight aggregate on the foam concrete covered lawn with highly low lawn plants.
