| The road is the lifeblood of city economy, and road greening is a showpiece of the city. In recent years, certain achievements have been made in road greening of Xi’an. The vertical greening system has been built. However, with increasing population and amount of motor vehicles, environmental pollution has become more and more serious. The haze index is frequently beyond the limit. Besides, people’s demand for city greening is gradually improved because of their increasing aesthetic appreciation. Therefore, we have an urgent issue to tackle, that is to seek a balance between ecological benefits of greening construction and economic and social development.Based on the theory of selection and configuration of road greening plants, the thesis conducts a research on road greening plants of Xi’an 3rd Ring Road. The research includes road width, varieties, amount and configuration of road greening plants. The growing condition and seasonal aspect of plants has been supervised for a long time. Targeted on the current situation of plants configuration on Xi’an 3rd Ring Road, it still has following problems to tackle: 1.planting varieties are not rich, and local varieties take up low proportion; 2.plants growth and survival rate remain to be improved; 3.all kinds of planting collocation is not reasonable; 4.conflict between road greening and traffic still exist, and seasonal aspect of plants are not rich.The thesis come up with some suggestions targeted on selection and configuration of road greening plants on Xi’an 3rd Ring Road: 1.enrich varieties of greening plants; 2.properly bring in exotic species; 3.rationally allocate plants according to their characteristics; 4.pragmatical use of road greening should be noticed; 5.strengthen post-management to guarantee greening achievements. |
