Popularity usage of cars is exacerbated by consumption of limited energy oil. Therefore, reducing automobile emissions and developing new energy vehicles has become a hot research topic in energy-saving and emission reduction measure, the hybrid electric vehicle and automobile lightening become one of the research focuses. Based on the research of domestic and foreign bus lightweight, the finite element method is used to lightweight research of monocoque hybrid bus body structure. A local connection body frame structure is proposed, and the bus body lightweight purpose is realized.Firstly, this paper consulted a large number of lightweight material literature and material manuals, and the lightweight materials database is established by the object-oriented database tools of Access. This database provides a source of information for engineers to selection suitable lightweight materials in the design work of body frame structure.Then, through the analysis of a certain type of hybrid monocoque bus body structure, some simplified measures are taken to establish the bus body frame three-dimensional geometrical model in ANSYS. On this basis, the material properties and unit type are defined, and the bus body frame finite element model is established. Through identifying the four typical working conditions(horizontal bending condition, ultimate torsion condition, emergency braking condition and urgent turning condition) as boundary conditions, the static analysis of bus body frame finite element model is carried out. The stress and displacement distribution of bus body frame under four working conditions are obtained, and at the meantime, the strength and stiffness evaluation is performed for the body frame.Finally, according to the results of static analysis, a kind of body frame lightweight solution is put forward, by determining a suitable steel/aluminum connection mode, a partly steel/aluminum connecting body frame structure is set up. On this basis, the static analysis for this lightweight bus body frame structure is carried out, by before and after improvement comparison, the lightweight body frame can satisfy the requirements of strength and stiffness, and the bus body frame weight is reduced by 9.87%. The researched bus body frame lightweight scheme has certain feasibility, and can provide a certain reference for the hybrid bus body lightweight design.
