How to ensure finish the research and development and to produce higher levels of BIW(body in white)dimension within limited period is an etemal topic of auto product design department and manufacturing department.In the auto company,the synchronous development work of manufacturing and designing has been widely used,the good results have been achieved.This is commonly called simultaneous engineering.But in order to minimize the design change in trial production phase,the biggest problem that should be considered is how to manage and optimize the dimension at the earlier design process.For all the factors that affect the product development cycle,the control of products and the dimension deviation of assembly have big effect on manufacturing cost and manufacturing cycle.In order to meet the BIW obtain a higher level of dimension demand and optimizing the problem of the dimension management in a relatively short period,the dimension engineering should be mentioned.The dimension engineering called dimension management,intended or expected manufacturing capability as a starting point,to formulate a reasonable position fixing and a reasonable allocation,to formulate the reasonable tolerance,to formulate reasonable manufacturing and assembly process.In order to make sure the manufactured products meet the established matching and functional requirements,by through the application of dimension chain analysis or tolerance virtual simulation technology,the risk can be evaluated and prevented for the above dimension tolerance design and dimension requirements.This thesis is based on the application in the practical work,combined the latest production J11 models in dimension engineering implementation in Shenyang Brilliance Jinbei Automobile Co.,Ltd,detailed introduced the key technology of car dimension engineering and the development process.The key technologies of vehicle dimension engineering are discussed from the design of DTS target,the design of the positioning system,the design of tolerance and the design of measuring points.During the industrialization phase of the project,establish the quality dimension evaluation and acceptance criteria for stamping checking fixture,welding fixtures and product parts,developed the BIW matching process specification.To monitoring the precision of the toolings and the parts in the factory,the BIW dimension tolerance is controlled by precise specification.To build the process for dimension analysis and problem-solving method,it’s successfully applied for typical problems solving in the production of J11 model.Through the practical application and validation,the dimension engineering played an important role to promote the BIW development and the ability of manufacturing quality.
