Relying on the advantages of low costs,huge traffic and flexible adaptation of goods,marine transportation has become the main mode of transportation in international trades.In recent years,with the development of information technology,ships have also accelerated to develop in the direction of informatization and automation.Especially the ships which were named as High-tech ships made in recent decades and had the characteristics of highly automated.Simultaneously,the automation of ships has gradually developed from cabin to ship-handling.Salvage towage are always in boisterous weather,villainous sea conditions and complex and volatile environment.At the same time,there are various factors needed to be taken into account,and the probability to encounter hazards would be higher if there are any carelessness.As for the tugs,the consequences would be unbearable to contemplate if encountered a secondary accident.For the tug itself,accidents such as cable break?bottom contact will imperil self-security and sailors' lives.The paper is aimed at taking advantage of the latest cable stress testing equipment to ensure the safety of towage and improve the towing automation by calculating,overall judging and controlling the influential factors for towing security.In this thesis,the principle and operating modes of automatic towing machine will be briefly introduced,and the calculation method and the choice of some main factors which influence the safety of towing operations when doing salvage towage will be summarized.First of all,calculating the theoretical value measured by towline tension monitor and analyzing the theoretical value of towline tension.Meanwhile,analyzing how to calculate the resistance of towed vessel and current condition of towing system on the basis of the main factors mentioned above,the length of towline and the level of winds and waves.Calculating whether the Towline Catenary meets the security requirements or not according to the towline tension detected by the Automatic towing machine;or by analyzing towline tension to control and keep the catenary of towline in a safe range all the time when the depth of the navigation area is restricted,thus avoiding the bottom contact accidents.When the less stable towed vessel gets into a slewing situation,attentions should be paid to the heeling moment which produced by towline,and make sure it is safe to use.In this paper,this moment will be calculated.Combining the connection of the moment and the slewing,the paper explained how to use the data from towline tension monitor to guarantee the stability and safety of the towed vessel.Namely,controlling the force exerted from towline in a safe range to avoid the risks result from the excessive heeling.This paper analyzes some boundednesses of Automatic towing machine which works in automatic operation mode.Then this paper builds a towing intelligent aided decision making system,establishes the framework and system flow of the system.Finally,input the monitored towline parameter into the system and then the system will taking actions to ensure safety of towing.Consequently,the towing work will be in an efficient and safe way.
