Wind energy is a kind of renewable clean energy which causes lower pollution.Nowadays,the wind power technology develops at an unprecedented rate.It has important significance to study the small scale wind power generation system,which is owing to the fact that it costs very low control method is very simple and the install location is flexible.The purpose of this paper is to design a set of small wind power experimental platform which can carry out a series of experiments of the wind turbine.First of all,this paper expounds the basic principle of wind power generation,analyzes the characteristics of wind power,and the basic principle of permanent magnet synchronous generator.In order to make high-efficiency use of the small wind power experimental platform which is designed,this paper introduces several common maximum tracking algorithms,and compares the advantages and disadvantages of these algorithms.Secondly,this paper establishes the model of the small scale wind power generation system based on the MATLAB,and carries out the simulation experiment with the built model,such as the maximum power point tracking experiments which use the constant step-size P&O method.The results confirm the workability of the small scale wind power generation system designed by this paper.Finally,this paper designs the small wind power experimental platform,including hardware design and software design.Then this paper does a series of hardware experiments on the experimental platform designed,and the experiments mainly focus on the maximum power point tracking.The experimental results prove that the P&O method can effectively keep the output power of wind power system near to the maximum state,and confirm practicalities of the experimental platform designed.
