In recent years, highway construction developed fast in China, which gradually has become an important factor to promote the development of our national economy.Highway engineering operation is a complex construction activity, easily influenced by external environment. With the continuous development of national highway, some problems exposed, which are engineers’ different technical level and common fault’s repeated arise. It makes engineering construction management be more and more highlighted. As highway construction standardization proposed by state department of transportation, boom was raised with the scope of national construction field.Based on definition of standardization, significance and research status at home and abroad were studied.Construction management standard and its application in Kunshan city were also pointed out.Main content of construction management standardization was introduced, which mainly consisted of standardization of production factor management, site construction, temporary construction facilities, environmental protection and construction safety management.Corresponding standard requirement was proposed.Especially,it was analyzed from quality, progress and cost aspects. Finally, reconstruction of Zuchong road in Kunshan city was taken for an example, which shows the application achievements of management standardization and reflects certain guiding role in pursuing management standardization at actual highway program management.Meantime,it helps provide the theory and practice evidence for further improvement of standardization documents utilized at highway construction in Suzhou region.
