Light Steel Frame Farm House Design

In 2008 in China,a major earthquake occurred in Wenchuan County of Sichuan Province and severely destroyed and collapsed many houses.Among them,the house with concrete frame structure is modestly destroyed,and the severely ruined houses are those masonry building s which lack of bottom grounds and beam reinforcement.Such buildings make up the majority of farmers' own houses in rural and mountain areas.Comparing with other architectural structures,the biggest advantages of houses with light steel frame structure are their superior seismic performance,which is especially suitable for areas where earthquakes occur frequently.In addition,because houses with light steel structure is light,and could be set independently in a steep slope,they are especially suitable to be built in mountains and sloping fields to save fertile land.Studying the houses with light steel frame is of great significance to the construction and development of mountain villages in china.It can be used for post disaster reconstruction and provides a better choice for the renewal and reconstruction of the houses that do not conform to the earthquake resistance requirements in mountain villages.This paper aims to design a kind of light steel frame house that is durable,practical and harmony with the environment by researching on the existent houses with light steel frame structure after reference and improvement.This kind of design is suitable to the houses in mountains where the earthquake occurs frequently and the geological condition is unstable,such as Yunnan,Sichuan in Chinese mainland.It can be used for the reestablishment and substitution of old houses that do not conform to earthquake requirements.The main contents are as follows.First,it attempts to improve and optimize the existent light steel keel system of Xie Yingjun to establish a light steel keel system system.The design contents are light steel frame,the construction method of enclosure structure and details.Secondly,it designs two house systems and three detailed house according to this structure.And thirdly,the design is going to be adopted in the renewal and reconstruction of old houses in Duoyishu Lower camp in Yuanyang country in Yunnan province..
