Historic site is a symbol of urban cultural heritage,and is also an important carrier of urban history.As an important carrier of street life,historic site's public space is an important part that cannot be ignored in the process of conservation.With the development of our society,people's lives is changing persistently,and the old public space cannot carried the modern social activities.At the same time,today's conservation planning mainly based on the conservation of material objects,ignoring the needs of users in the neighborhood.The lack of public life makes the historic site's public space lost its original atmosphere.At present,the relevant research on the public space of historic sites has not focused on the needs of users,which makes the conservation lack of systematic support.The author introduce the research method of environmental behavior,use the Suzhou Changmen as an object,make observe and statistics of the usage of various public spaces in the neighborhood,and conduct the research and interview on each group of people,making fully understand of the users in the public space,making analysis of the causes of the problem.Based on this,the author put forward three basic principles of public space construction in historic site.At the same time,from the perspective of the demand,the author put forward the key and specific strategies of design.
