In China,the exclusive right-turn phase is not set in the most of the urban road signalized intersections.But,with the increase of vehicle population and pedestrian traffic volume,the conflict of right turn vehicles and pedestrians to cross the street is becoming more and more prominent.Conflict behaviors not only impede the normal passage,causing confusion,but also increase traffic safety hazards.This paper mainly analyze the characteristics of the conflict between the right turn vehicle and pedestrians in the signal intersection,and put forward the corresponding control method,to a certain extent,can effectively alleviate the conflict.First of all,through the introduction of domestic and foreign research status,the main methods and contents are determined.In this paper,the intersection of Red flag Street and the Workers and Peasants Road is selected as the investigation site in the general right-turning treatment and the intersection of Yatai Street and South Lake Road is chosen as the survey sites in the early right-turning treatment.Through the software of Tracpro,we collect and analyze the traffic data information,such as: coordinates,time and point of speed,etc.For the conflict process of right turn vehicles and pedestrians,it introduced the traffic characteristics of the two,including the speed,the regularity of arrival,the distance of the headway and so on.After defining the traffic conflict and classifying them,it makes a simple analysis on the characteristics of the conflict,such as the change of speed and acceleration,interference delay,etc.By comparing,we find that there are three kinds of state in the process of the right turn vehicle and pedestrians passing through the conflict zone.And the traffic characteristics are analyzed in general.Determine the method of setting the right-turn vehicles forbidden phase to alleviate the problem of the conflict.And make a comparison of the delay before and after the implementation.At the same time,according to the status of the studied intersection we calculate the signal control time for the right-turn vehicle,and the result is probably about 11s-13 s.The maximum waiting time of pedestrian is the foundation in Early right-turning treatment.Signal control is set up in the peak period.When the average delay time of pedestrians exceeds 15 s,the appropriate signal control should be done.At last,the paper summarizes the work and the deficiency.
