Research On Driver 's Safety Awareness Simulation Driving Evaluation Method

Research shows that, about 90% of the road traffic accident was caused by human factors. The weakness of safety consciousness and serious violation of driving are the main reasons for China’s road traffic accident. Therefore, it is necessary to develop driver’s safety awareness research. It not only can help researchers find the way to improve driver’s safety awareness,but also help the driver understand the present situation of his safety awareness level, and propose the adjustment and suggestion according to the assessment test which can enhance the driver’s safety awareness and reduce traffic accidents.Through reviewing the former assessment method and achievement of the driver’s safety awareness, the paper makes theoretical analysis of the driver’s safety awareness, It is necessary to classify the driver’s safety awareness into three types which is rule safety awareness, vigilance safety awareness and undering awareness according to the different contents of the driver safety awareness.Secondly, through the traffic accident case of our country and make full consideration of the complexity and diversity of city road environment, the paper select the representative traffic accident and designed five kinds of traffic scenarios. The evaluation systems of driver safety awareness is designed with these 5 scenarios which are construction area road, the bus station bus stop, crossing pedestrians crossing the road,the opposite lane call team and in front of the taxi suddenly turned.Thirdly, the paper build the evaluation index system according to the evaluation index from two aspects of the vehicle handing parameters and vehicle movement behavioral parameters, the paper determine the magnitude of speeding, braking deceleration, velocity standard deviation and the steering lamp of open time as the evaluation index of the driver safety awareness, and used the analytic hierarchy process method to build an evaluation model of safety awareness of drivers.Finally, through the example of 16 subjects of the driving simulation, The safety consciousness of subjects were evaluated and verify the correct of the evaluation systems according to the test of the results. The expert evaluation is established as the assessment method and compared with the expert score, the simulation results were generally low,however, driving simulation evaluation result and expert evaluation results are basically consistent. The driving simulation evaluation model can evaluate the safety awareness of drivers effectively. The significance of this study is to evaluate the safety awareness of drivers from driving simulation method and provides a new perspective and research methods to study and improve the level of safety awareness of drivers.
