Smart substation is the key link of the smart grid construction in our cou ntry,and is also the transmission and supply hub of electricity.Safe and stable operation of substation has a huge impact on regional economic and social development.Testing of smart substation is the key point of substation commission and operation.The reliability and validity of secondary equipment functions completely depend on the testing technology.Compared with conventional substation,smart substation based on IEC 61850 protocol as the foundation of total digital communication,and introduced la rge number of IEDs such as electronic transformer,merging unit(MU),intelligent terminal,which can greatly increase the flexibility in the organization and distribution of the information.However,the implementation and application of the whole primary and secondary systems are changed greatly.The traditional signal transmission by electrical cable is replaced by digital fiber,information is not transmitted only through point to point communication,and the interrelationship among different devices in smart substation is closer.How to verify the complex information distribution relationship and check the functionalities of comprehensive protection and control,is the necessary problem to resolve in field test before putting the smart substation into operation.In this paper,according to the problem that the current smart substation simulation system cannot be well applied in transformer substation,research review of integrated testing method for secondary equipment based on wireless data communication is proposed.This research explores the concept and implication of existing secondary system testing method and the real time digital simulation technology,and the application situation of wireless communication in substation automation are briefly introduced also.On this basis,a novel integrated testing method is proposed for secondary equipment based on wireless data communication,and the hardware and software of testing system are developed also.In this system,electromagnetic transient calculation is adopted to get the current and voltage value of substation normal running or malfunction,which is transferred to the tested substation interval by special wireless channel,and some distributed terminals are designed to realize the seamless connection between the simulation system and substation secondary system.This system can realize the integrated testing of different functions of secondary system in smart substation.The effectiveness of the testing system is proved by substation model founding and fault simulation,and the next step research prospects were also given at the end of the paper.
