A New Approach To Village Conservation And Protection Of Heritage Zone In Yuanyang County

With the increasingly enhanced economic power,villagers in Yuanyang heritage zone begin to show their strong desire for modern life.In addition,the existing old villages cannot meet the need for development as almost each family has witnessed a substantial increase in population after decades of development.Therefore,villagers in the zone have to build new houses continuously.This has brought serious challenges to the conservation and protection of villages in the heritage zone.It is impossible for us to achieve this by focusing on protection only,thus,to find new approaches is really urgent.The thesis will conduct an analysis on heritage conservation theory,village conservation and protection theory as well as the related research literature about the Hani Terrace heritage zone in Yuanyang.Combined the analysis with the current situation and problem of villages in the heritage zone,the village conservation and development can be synergized as an organic unity,therefore,thoughts on promoting heritage conservation and protection by encouraging the benign development of villages could be put forward.Taking Ale village and Qingkou County as examples,the thesis gives an analysis and contrasts on the essential difference,and then put forward the concept of tourism-oriented and life-oriented development mode as two different modes for villages in the heritage zone.No matter what type of development,they all have the nature of the village life,and any development mode without the villagers’ life cannot be accepted.Taking the principle as a breakthrough point,the thesis explores the benign development of villages in the heritage zone.Compared with an excellent domestic practice example——the rural construction principle of Haotang Village,it results in an enlightenment of copying the mode to village development in the heritage zone,furthermore,development idea of the life-oriented village is proposed finally.The thesis focuses mainly on studying the life-oriented village development,which attracts less attention from researchers.Due to the significant differences of development conditions between tourism-oriented villages and life-oriented villages,their development modes should be different.The development of tourism-oriented villages relies more on“external power",while that of life-oriented villages have to depend upon the principle role of the villagers to the largest extent.The most important task is to enhance the villagers’ cohesion by synergizing them together.
