Design Research Of The Intelligent Stairway Walking Aid For Senior Citizen In Old Residential Area

Based on research date 2015 by Center of Population and Development Studies,buildings by Chinese elderly people were constructed after 1980 s,and were mainly 6-7 storied or below.Investigations show that 28.9% of elderly people live in a building below 7 stories without elevators,and it makes hard for elderly people from the third to seventh floor to go up and down[1].Elderly people above 60 years old account for 16.1% of the total population in 2015.In case of elderly population up to 22.1 billion[2],tens of thousands of elderly people are now “suspending in the air”.Supposing that elderly people are in poor health,they can only see the world through window.By research analysis of multi-storey building and scooter at home and abroad,the author has come up with solution to difficult going up and down for people at advanced age or with trouble in walking living in elevator-free building less than seven stories.With survey analysis of housing density of elderly population and spatial size of outdated residential building passageway,it shall design a reasonable elevator system and intelligent passageway scooter in accordance with the actual situation.By means of intelligent scooter,it will combine community security,community information,health care,first aid,community supermarket,advertising promotion,and public benefit activities,etc.together with internet,to create intelligent community life circle and solve problem for elderly people to go up and down and improve their living quality at the same time.
