Distribution automation(DA)is a modern technology using advancing electronic,communication,computer and network technology.The realization of DA can maintain the power distribution system fuction well and monitor,protect and control the system when accidents take place.DA technology greatly improves the efficiency of power grid,ensures its safety and improves the quality of electricity.DA can vigorously improve the modernization and intelligence of power grid.With the constant promotion of DA establishment,the improvement of the smart grid project and the diversification development of communication technology,building a safe,reliable and high return DA communication network system has become one of the most important researches for the state grid company.This paper mainly studied the distribution automation system of Shenyang power supply company of state grid.The communication network design and realization is studied.The domestic and foreign research status on DA communication system is summarized.The research and DA applying status of EPON technology is also presented.The main effects and features of the distribution network on communication network are summarized by analyzing the function and structure of the DA system.The article also analyzes the needs in reliability,bandwidth and safety issues on distribution network communications services.The article studied various kinds of principles of communication technologies that are suitable for DA,including optical fiber communication,carrier communication and wireless communication,and analyzes the applying status of these communication technologies in communication of power system.Combined with the actual situation of DA communication system in Shenyang,this paper designed a multiple-layer communication network structure.In the access layer,this paper analyzes the feasibility of the communication network on the aspects of the reliability,bandwidth,cost and security extension.Finally,by measuring the received power,communication bandwidth and terminal online rate of ONU,operating conditions of the device are monitored.For the terminal nodes that do not meet the requirements through device monitoring,failure analysis is done.The further work needs to be done on this analysis.
