As a branch of Internet of Things,smart home is the most close direction of intelligent living.The smart home system is designed for home living,and combined with embedded technology,Internet,intelligent hardware,and automation technology to achieve integrated,automated and smart management for home appliances.In the field of smart home products,gateway device is the focus research object.The main function of the smart home gateway include three parts: the formation of internal network,protocol translation,and data communication with the Internet.As the most important part of the smart home system,the gateway device is responsible for the work which about networked management for terminal device,and affect intelligence level and practicality of smart home system.Nowdays,the market of smart home products filled with single function intelligent devices which use different communication methods and can not communicate with each other.To solve the problems,a new type of gateway device is designed.The author analyzes a large number of literatures of smart home field,and introduces the development and history of smart home,and analyzes the tendency of smart home system.Also,the author investigates the most representative smart home products which is on the sale.And,a new type of smart home gateway which based on WiFi,ZigBee,Bluetooth and embedded technology and overcomes the shortcomings of the existing smart home gateway is designed.The research of the paper includes the following aspects:(1)Analyze the architecture and the situation of the smart home system,and propose a solution which is to develop a new kind of gateway device to overcome the shortcomings of too many communication methods,poor compatibility,redundancy of the gateway device and poor ability of interconnection between the products.(2)The research based on the home living platform,and focused on the formation of internal network and data transmission by using bluetooth,ZigBee,and WiFi technology.Smart home products connect with gateway,so that can exchange data with each other.(3)The hardware of the smart home gateway device is designed.The author introduces and completes the hardware part by using bluetooth module,ZigBee module,WiFi module,Arduino serial expansion board and Raspberry Pi embedded unit device.(4)The software of the smart home gateway device is designed.The author analyzes functions of the gateway device,and uses OpenWrt operating system and multi-threaded modular methods design local server and remote communications applications.Complete the software part of the smart home gateway device,which can control the smart home products and get environment information remotely.The new kind of gateway device is designed innovatively which use kinds of wireless communication methods and can connected both nearly and remotely.The gateway device solve the incompatibility communication problem which caused by terminal equipments which have different communication methods,and make the data between terminal equipments can be interactive,and save the cost of the redundant gateway equipment,and improve the extensibility and intelligence of smart home system.
