As the backbone in modern naval warfare,submarines have been vigorously developed since they were invented.On the other side, the submarine structure is very complicated, so the accidents about submarine occur frequently. While conventional submarine escape and rescue systems exist many imperfections such as low security, low success rate of rescue,poorly autonomy,and long time waiting for rescue.As a new standalone escape device,collective escape capsule can ensure the safety of staff during escaping and improve the survival rate of submariners effectively.This paper studies the structure design of the collective escape cabin pressure hull,overall layout design, seakeeping performance and other aspects.For structural design of the pressure hull,first of all, according to factors in the pressure hull structural design,the material,structure and size of the pressure hull were determined.Secondly by using "standard",the structural strength and stability of pressure hull were calculated.Then we checked the strength and stability of the pressure hull by applying ABAQUS. Both of the validated the safety and reliability of the designed pressure hull were verified.Based on the overall compatibility, size factor and design requirements, the composition of escape pod system was determined.Then we designed the overall design system configuration based on size of each dimension and its position.According to the general arrangement,the hydrostatic performance and stability performance of the collective escape capsule was calculated.Finally we verified the reasonableness of the overall arrangement.The escape chamber has to wait for the rescue after floating to the sea surface.The sloshing caused by wave will have a negative impact on survivors, so it is necessary to calculate the seakeeping performance of the escape chamber.The seakeeping performance of the escape chamber can be forecasted by hydrodynamic software. Meanwhile, calculating the amplitude frequency response in the regular wave and analyzing the results in different angle of wave.Short-term forecasts of the swaying of the escape chamber in irregular wave is carried out by the method of spectral analysis After the calculation the results of the sagging swing, vertical swing and pitching motion amplitude in different sea condition can be obtained.
