Adaptive Cruise Control system(ACC)is a new generation automobile pilot auxiliary system which develops on the traditional constant speed Cruise Control System(CCS).As the co-driver,the ACC system aims at reducing the workload of driver and traffic accidents,as well as increasing the traffic flow throughput and making the driver more comfortable.ACC distinguishes itself from cruise control in adding the functions of headway distance control and collision warning.According to the previously setting parameters and tracing the speed of preceding vehicle,the ACC system can adjust the traveling speed in order to maintain a security distance between an ACC-equipped vehicle and a preceding vehicle.It is also one of the most important automatic drive technologies in Intelligent Transportation Systems(ITS),which is called Advanced Cruise-Assist Highway System(AHS).In this paper,there are some improvement and innovation in control technology research and application of the computer.In controller structure of the throttle,it proposes "the positional output controller with incremental algorithm kernel",which can smoothly switch between the speed tracking control mode and the distance tracking control mode.An innovative controller based on fuzzy and PID control is also presented for the distance-tracking control mode,which is called fuzzy-PID controller with coefficient adjusting".This algorithm has some advantages of PD type fuzzy controller,such as robustness,simple design and independence on accurate mathematics model.The PI controller can eliminate steady state error,and the adjustment of PI controller's coefficient can also effectively restrain oscillations and limit cycles near the set point.The advantages of the Fuzzy PID controller is fuzzy controller output a source near zero equivalent to the output of the PD controller,for u source by computing the ratio of the output of the data still has a PD controller has the advantages,at the same time to source of integral budget output still has a PI control system's advantage.Finally,the simulations analyses have been done test the ACC controller.The comparative results show that the developed algorithm is more safety than the previous algorithms,the switch from the speed-tracking control mode to the distance-tracking control mode is smooth,and the vehicle control is rapid and accurate on the tracking status.This design is successful.
