Study On Urban Intersection Road Work Traffic Flow Characteristics And The Capacity

With the acceleration of urbanization,the new construction,reconstruction projects and maintenance work projects of urban infrastructure continuously are increasing.The implementation of construction projects often took up the limited road space,thus road work would inevitably affect the moving vehicles.Intersection is the throat of urban road traffic,and the traffic is very complicated in work zone,Decreased capacity is likely to cause accidents and traffic congestion.By the study of the traffic flow characteristics and capacity in urban intersection road work zone,this paper proposes improvement measures for work road zone problems,road conditions,traffic changes in environmental improvement measures and provided reference to reduce the negative impact of road work.On the base of extensive reading and study relevant literature of China and board,on the different types of lane intersection from the road characteristics,characteristics of the vehicle,the vehicle reaches the intersection angle distribution of intersections for traffic flow analysis,and proposed the distribution model of the reached vehicle flow.This paper analysis urban Intersection capacity factors,and carried out quantitative analysis the important factors for the impact on the capacity of intersection based on the use of survey data and simulation software,and proposed the corresponding reduction factors.Finally,the intersection of Lusong Road and Shisong Road,which lays in work zone of Lusong Road Reconstruction Project,would be targeted empirical research,the capacity and delays of Intersection under construction were analyzed to calculate,which were evaluated the level of service,and this paper used VISSIM traffic simulation analysis.Comparative analysis showed that the road work have a significant impact on the intersection capacity and service levels,and the implementation of traffic control,optimization of traffic signal timing and other organizational strategy have a significant effect to reduce the construction area intersections traffic delays for different stages of the construction characteristics.
